Music for memorials should be music that has one or more of these qualities:

~ uplifts the listener

~ was a favorite of your loved one

~ is a family favorite 

~ makes you feel closer to your loved one

A typical memorial service, funeral or celebration of life includes 1-3 musical pieces in the service itself.

1 piece: Usually in the middle of the service, but occasionally at the end or beginning

2 pieces:

~1 piece in the middle near the message or eulogy

~1 piece at the beginning, after the greeting by the officiant, or 1 piece at the end

3 pieces:

~1 piece at the beginning after the greeting by the officiant.  

~1 piece in the middle near the message or eulogy

~1 piece at the end, immediately before dismissal.  Usually this piece should be something that is triumphant or will lift people up before they leave. See suggestions below.

The pieces included in the service are often sung.  With Heavenly Harp's Karin Gunderson, you have a vocalist and harpist in one person.  Fondly referred to as "the singing harpist" her voice will make you think the angels have arrived!

Pre-Service Music

A service with Heavenly Harp music includes 15-20 minutes of instrumental music before the service begins, as people are gathering.  You may choose the type of music you want from the following categories, or even choose some specific songs which are listed under these categories on the Concert Repertoire page:

30s-50s relaxing popular music (like Stardust or Misty)

or any combination of the above

Post-Service Music

Post-service music is also included in Heavenly Harp Memorials.  The post-service music includes 5-8 minutes of music as attendees leave the area. It is usually beautiful, light music, ethereal or classical that usually feels lighter than the music before & during the service.

Service Fee: $400 for Phoenix area

This includes creating a customized playlist for your event, practice time prior to event, travel time, tuning & set up time, pre & post service music as well as up to 3 songs in the service.

Additional Post-Service or Reception Music 

Additional post-service music or music for your reception is available at $100 per hour, with an additional $150 fee for Bose Sound System, if harp needs to be amplified for a larger gathering.
